Raymond Lewis

Raymond began his career at the Bar with a civil pupillage. From there he went into the City and spent a number of years as the legal adviser to the corporate finance department of 3Is. In the early 80s he returned to the Bar to practise criminal law. He appeared some years later for the defence in the first of the major football hooligan trials the "Chelsea headhunters". While both prosecuting and defending Raymond developed a specialist firearms practice and is a recommended expert. He represented Roy and David Garner in their much publicised appeal relating to antique shotguns. He was also part of a Channel 4 Dispatches exposé on the illegal trafficking of stun guns.
More recently Raymond has led in the three main diversion fraud cases involving London City Bond which ultimately led to the dismantling of customs investigations. He acted for the finance director in the Levitt Fraud and also acted for Roger Levitt. He has been leading counsel in over 20 murder trials and recently defended Sean Bradish (Britain's most prolific armed robber). At the moment he is involved in an international drug supplying trial for an alleged gang leader.
Raymond is married with two children and is a published novelist.
