Joanna McEgan is developing an extremely promising reputation for her criminal work, acting for both prosecution and defence. Violent crime, sexual offences, fraud, dishonesty, public order and drugs crime all constitute significant parts of her broad-based experience. In addition she has participated in cases involving witness intimidation, arson and perverting the course of justice, as well as in confiscation proceedings.

Joanna is particularly skilled in dealing with vulnerable defendants and witnesses, such as children and those with mental health issues. Her recent highlights include instructions as junior counsel in cases relating to manslaughter, sexual offences involving children, kidnap and false imprisonment. She has also appeared in murder and attempted murder trials. Joanna is a member of the South Eastern Circuit.
