Edith is the only barrister to have British Sign Language as a first language, having grown up as the only hearing person in a deaf family. She is a qualified British Sign Language interpreter and has particular expertise in cases involving the deaf. She has also been instructed as an expert in the field of Sign Language interpreting.

Edith Norrman's broad-ranging criminal practice includes acting for both defence and prosecution in trials ranging from serious violence, robbery, burglary and child neglect to the supply of class A drugs and perjury. She also has experience in cases relating to the importation of illegal immigrants.
