Amanda Hamilton

Specialist practice areas: Serious Crime, Professional Disciplinary Hearings (NMC), Inquests and Public Inquiries, Serious Sexual Offences, Extradition & Employment.

Amanda Hamilton is an experienced junior with particular interest in the areas of serious sexual offences, murder, drugs/tobacco/cigarette importation and child cruelty.

Amanda has represented many appellants in the High Court. In 2008 she was Junior Counsel in the appeal of Barri White who had served 5 years of a life sentence and was acquitted on re-trial.

She is exceptionally sensitive to the needs of vulnerable defendants, especially young, unsupported and mentally ill clients.

Cases involving medical, nursing and scientific expertise are of particular interest and Amanda has considerable knowledge in these areas. She is accredited by the Bar Council to provide Public Access services.

She has been a pupil supervisor since 2005 and takes an interest in continuing education and the future of the young Bar.
