Before adopting his role as a consultant, John was the Senior Clerk at Furnival Chambers, and a Clerk for more than 30 years. He has seen Furnival grow from a handful of members to the size that it is today and has been involved with every stage of Chambers' development.

John is the Vice President of the Institute of Barristers Clerks. He is also a Member of the Recorder of London's Central Criminal Court Users committee.
