R v Golding [2007] 1 Cr App R (S) 79; [2007] Crim LR 170
Acted for the Crown in an appeal against sentence where the sentencing judge's making of a Restriction Order(where public at risk of serious harm from offender), under section 41 of the Mental Health Act 1983, was affirmed. This was in spite of the fact that the appellant had never acted violently in the past.

Appeared for the Crown Prosecution Service in a judicial review of the Crown Court's decision to extend a custody time limit.

H v the Director of Public Prosecutions, 168 JP 177; (sub nom R (on the application of H) v Balham Youth Court & DPP)
Acted for a 15 year old boy in a judicial review of the decision by a Youth Court to commit him for trial on indictment. The Divisional Court quashed the Youth Court's decision.

R v Matthews [2004] QB 690; [2003] 3 WLR 693; [2003] 2 Cr App R 19; The Times 28th April 2003
Represented the Crown in the leading human rights authority where the Court of Appeal held that the statutory defence under section 139 (4) and (5) of the Criminal Justice Act 1988 (good reason for having bladed or sharply pointed articles in public places), was not incompatible with Article 6 (2) of the European Convention on Human Rights.

T v the Director of Public Prosecutions [2003] Crim LR 622
Appeared for the appellant in the leading case where the definition of ‘actual bodily harm' was extended to include a temporary loss of consciousness for the purposes of section 47 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861.
