Regulation & Compliance
The ability of the Regulation & Compliance team is founded upon each member’s experience in our core discipline of crime. Furnival prides itself in its Jury and Appellate advocacy, which we believe is a matchless basis for any tribunal work.
Members of Chambers have also built upon their expertise in the technical aspects of financial crime, forfeiture, confiscation and civil fraud and have successfully developed this growing area of law.
The Financial Regulatory Team
As a subgroup of the Regulatory Team, the Financial Regulatory Team at Furnival Chambers has extensive experience in a breadth of FSA issues, ranging from Financial Crime and Market Abuse through to providing advice on Market Conduct, Senior Management Arrangement, Systems and Controls, Authorisation and Codes of Practice for Approved Persons.
The team, which includes members with first hand experience through secondment within the FSA Wholesale Markets Enforcement Division, are well placed to conduct litigation before both the FSA Disciplinary Tribunals and the Criminal Courts and offer advice and representation throughout the entire regulatory process.
The Furnival Team is able to act swiftly in the event of Regulatory Intervention.
Areas of Regulatory Work
Having a solid and longstanding experience in criminal and civil crossovers has enabled Chambers to widen its remit so as to include instructions from institutions ranging from the Rugby League to the MHRA.

- Financial Services Authority enforcement actions and applications to the Regulator (For the Authority and for the Respondent/Applicant)
